PoP
While I search about mybrain15, I found an interest title by coincidence. Publish or Perish abbreviate PoP, which is a tool for researcher to check their article ranking or what we always called as impact factor.
With this application, user can search around all the publication for the particular author. Whilst the original purpose of this app it to should the cited article by the particular author. However, I found it's just great for me to view my publication cited and also the journal impact. Let have a try if you haven't!

Google instant or not?

Recently I use the google advanced search especially the function of Results per page. I didn't aware that every time I search with the 100 pages, it's still remained the default number of pages. Until today, I discover that the google got such this problem because of google instant function. Google instant is a new and powerful function that manage to display the output while the user key in the search keywords. However, I still like the traditional way that is press the search button after I key in the keywords. The results per page will recover function after you put it off away. Just a little sharing~

Just a nag

September was pass and now I step in October. I thought that the 'unsmooth' month was pass but it seem not, start of October my bike need to send to workshop for repaired. Luckily I didn't crash when the bike chain jam during riding it. Thank to my friend also who willing come to fetch me during the moment I need. Now I was face some bottle neck on my job. Unsolved problem bothering few days ago, still can't find any solution, and I feel like to give up. Since I have the responsibility then I must find a way to figure out it. I was now a bit emo, feel like don't want to do anythings. How I going to move forward for the rest of the life? Alas.

Today I met a friend after the mass. I feel very surprised cause I never thinking can meet with her again. I also happy to know one new friend. Hope can see him every week to the mass. Failed

My post-guaduate life fulled of failure. Trying to apply difference academic grant and scholarship but each came out with unsuccessful results. Sigh~ everytime I saw people around me get their scholarship, I'll smiling cause they are lucky and hope that they can concentrate more on their research. However, while I look back to myself, asking myself what I get? ...I still trying, may be the time still not coming yet, but actually I started doulbt myself, am I wouldn't get any finance aids until the end of my research? Then how long should I take to finish my research? I need to do part-time jobs to cover my life spend and dairy expenses, lacking of time on research is my main concern, when I can finish my research? Goosh! I will not giving up anymore since I failed so many time. I always thanking God for I'am not the only one, thanking cause I still standing here, and I believe God will give me the honour at the day coming.

Vexed

I have a feeling that I'm wasting time. Time should be tight during doing research but I think that not applying on me. Upset that I not doing properly, down because don't have a clear route. I need some one can really guide me a lot care me a lot but not bothering me a lot. I need rest but I can survive without doing jobs. I want hacked my head so that I can get many ideas, finish up my research as soon as possible and leave this damn environment.

"When a new user sits down to use a program, they do not come with a completely clean slate. They have some expectations of how they think the program is going to work. If they've used similar software before, they will think it's going to work like that other software. If they've used any software before, they are going to think that your software conforms to certain common conventions. They may have intelligent guesses about how the UI is going to work. This is called the user model: it is their mental understanding of what the program is doing for them."

I'm planning to write a review of the article or journal related to multi-modal interaction for the coming month. What actually a review paper needed? Here is my idea after "looping" for thinking the answer: "Look forward to the way people do it from the previous researches. What have been done before and what can be your extended tasks through previous researches." It look quite ambiguous but it might the answer I looking for and I feel comfortable with it.

In this video, he mentioned about the Tom Kelley, the author of the book name "The Ten Faces of Innovation" and also Johnny Lee, a HCI researcher at Carnegie Mellon University. The video is in mandarin, if you can't understand your can first learn the mandarin, or second choice ask somebody know mandarin to translate to you.
